DESCRIPTION
Amazing work on getting to the Symbols Challenge! In this practise challenge you will be creating a 2D & 3D symbol, also known as a Hybrid symbol. Below you will find the Brief and key steps and also a assistance video if needed.
OBJECTIVE
The objective for this challenge is to put into practise the skills you have learnt when going through the symbols section of Resources. You will also be putting into practise your 2D and 3D drawing skills.
SKILLS NEEDED
TO START
Within Vectorworks open a new template file by going to File > New > Use Document Template > Use the Fundamentals Metric or Imperial Template. (Remember to save your file!)

BRIEF
Your challenge is to create a 2D/3D Hybrid symbol of a simple Bar table. Below are some key steps to help along the way when taking on this challenge. Feel free to come up with your own design for the table, we encourage creativity in these challenges!

KEY STEPS
1. Within Top/Plan create a circle for the base of the table, once created apply a height to the base.
2. Navigate to a Right Isometric View, create a circle on top of the extrude for the table leg. Apply a height to the table leg.
3. Create a rectangle from the centre of the table leg to create the table top. Apply a height to the Table top.
4. You should now have a 3D model of your table.
5. Next you will need to create the 2D representation for the table.
6. Once you have the 2D and 3D for your table, create a symbol.
7. Congratulations! You have just completed your Challenge!
ⓘ Tip: Make sure to create the symbol in Top/Plan so the 3D insertion point of the symbol is taken in the correct place. -
