DESCRIPTION
Welcome to the File Organization challenge! Here you will test your understanding of how a file is structured, looking at Design Layers and Classes, putting these into practise.
OBJECTIVE
The objective for this challenge is to make sure you have a clear understanding of how a file is structured to help with organization within your projects. By the end of the challenge you should be able to create a number of Design layers and Classes, assign to objects and move objects between these.
SKILLS NEEDED
TO START
Within Vectorworks open a new template file by going to File > New > Use Document Template > Use the Fundamentals Metric or Imperial Template. (Remember to save your file!)
-
BRIEF
Your challenge is to think of a typical project you will be doing within your business. Create at least 3 Design layers you believe you may need for this project. Once you have created the Design layers, think about the Classes you may need. Create at least 3 classes giving them different attributes for the purpose of this challenge. Create a number of different objects/Shapes on the 3 design layers and assign a different class to each shape. By the end of this challenge you should have at least 3 Design Layers, 3 Classes and 3 Shapes.
Good luck!
