3D VISUALISATION
The 3D Visualisation pane informs how the window looks in 3D views. In this section, we will survey some of its key features. However, for a more comprehensive breakdown of the 3D Visualisation pane, please visit the Help page.
Key Features
3D Hinge Direction Marker: The parameters beneath this heading allow you to display hinge direction markers on the interior and exterior of a window when viewed in elevation. You can also set the direction markers to point to the hinge or handle, as suits your local custom.
ⓘ Tip: For the Hinge Direction Marker Class parameter, we recommend choosing a class other than the window object's class or, even better, creating a new class for controlling the visibility and attributes of the hinge direction marker. This will allow you to easily control their color, thickness, and line type or hide them in your renders or other situations when they are not needed.
Draw 3D open: This checkbox is unchecked by default, so the window will be closed in 3D but displayed open in 2D. This accommodates most standards for plan and elevation drawings.
However, if you check the Draw 3D open checkbox, the window will open to the value set in the following Open Angle field.
ⓘ If the Draw 3D open checkbox is checked, changing the Open Angle value will affect both the 2D and 3D representation of the window.
3D Detail Levels: This list browser allows you to choose which 3D Parts to display based on the detail level of your view or viewport.
By default, Medium and High are applied uniformly to the list of 3D Parts, but you can change these to suit your preferred aesthetic.
