ID TAG
The ID Tag pane contains parameters for determining how a window is identified and reported in keys, schedules, and legends. We will briefly survey some of its features, but take advantage of the Help page for a full breakdown.
ⓘ Since Data Tags were introduced, many of the ID Tag parameters are now considered legacy features.
Key Features
Include on schedule: This parameter is critical if you use the preformatted reports because only windows with this checked will appear in those.
This checkbox is sometimes used to distinguish between existing windows (not checked) and new windows (checked) in a report, though there are other ways to achieve this.
ⓘ If you use Data Tags to key windows, you may only need to enter values for the ID Prefix, ID Label, and ID Suffix fields, as those values are most likely reported in the tag.
Still, if you prefer to use the window's built-in tag—that is, when the Show tag in 2D checkbox is checked—you can use its accompanying parameters to control how the ID tag looks and functions.
