MATERIALS AND CLASSES
The Materials and Classes pane contains parameters for the material, class, and texture assignments for the window's components — its individual parts and, in some instances, the interior and exterior sides of those parts.
In this section, we will look at some of the key features of the Materials and Classes pane, but for a full breakdown of all its fields, please visit the Help page.

Key Features
Materials and Classes: With this list browser, you can choose materials, classes, and textures for the various window parts. For styled windows, you can also set whether these choices are determined 'by style' or 'by instance' by toggling the icon beneath the two By Style columns. One precedes the Material column; the second precedes the Class column.
A generous range of control and variability is offered here. For example, a part's material can be set 'by instance' while its class is set 'by style' — and a 'by instance' texture override can also be initiated here.
To edit the settings of a part, click to highlight its row in the list browser, then use the Material, Class, and Texture dropdowns below to make your choices. For styled windows, you can click the 'by style/by instance' icons in the list browser rows to toggle between the two settings.
ⓘ We recommend that you use a consistent method for determining how to apply materials, classes, and textures to window parts. But once you have made these decisions for one window style, you can apply them to future windows by clicking the Import Materials and Classes Settings... at the top of the pane.
