As the world changes and businesses adapt, so do the office spaces that we use. More than ever, we hear about companies trying to increase efficiency of their existing office spaces and explore new ways to get employees back to work with hybrid workspaces.
Join Kesoon Chance, Industry Specialist from Vectorworks UK to discover how to build an efficient model through the “fit-out” process and ways in which you can showcase these changes to your clients.

As a valued member of the Vectorworks community we would like to welcome you to this exploration file, provided by Vectorworks. We provide an overview of the project's objectives below, but to jump straight into exploring the project, we suggest running through the Saved Views and/or the Sheet Layers. The House Residential sample file consists of 3 files:
The first two, named House in Half an Hour, provide a simple and straightforward way to get to grips with modelling using parametric tools such as Walls, Slabs, Roofs, Windows and Doors. The first file is a template providing a blank slate with guides and instructions for quick start modelling practice. The second file shows how the model should look like once finished. The third file is a developed stage model that provides an insight into some of the more advanced workflows in Vectorworks - particularly model data processing. Materials have been used extensively, to provide both graphic attributes to objects and also as means to obtain quantity take offs, which in turn populate our Embodied Carbon Calculator and Bills of Quantities live worksheets. Energos energy analysis project settings and results can also be explored using this model.
Project organisation in these files includes a generic Storey setup and Design Layers linked with Storey Levels. A Class structure is based on the UK's Uniclass2015. Resources such as Wall Styles which work with Storey Levels can be found in the Resource
Manager. This has been setup so you can immediately start modelling using those resources and project settings.
With more technology available to interior and architectural designers, the traditional approach to developing commercial projects is moving to exciting levels. Your workflow is no longer just about providing 2D drawings and details; great visualizations and smart take-offs can all be a part of your design process. BIM for interiors is a more thoughtful way to design, organize, and face today’s challenges in the industry. In this presentation — inspired by an elegant retail interiors project located in Tokyo by designers Mana and Takashi Kobayashi, IMA Inc. — Luis M. Ruiz, Int. Assoc. AIA, will discuss how you can increase your efficiency and win more work with an integrated data-driven 3D modeling process.

In the latest updates with Service Pack 3 for Vectorworks 2022, experience game-changing upgrades to the Vectorworks Nomad App and Web View capabilities based on the Unity Technologies® game engine. You can now easily open large 3D models with complex geometry from the web or your mobile or tablet device without having to sacrifice any aspect of your design. With these upgrades, you’ll find consistent tools and experience between Web View and Nomad and experience better navigation and lighting controls in Web View. You’ll also be able to easily share your work with project collaborators using a link or QR code.

With new Vectorworks Cloud Services integrations available in Service Pack 3 for Vectorworks 2022, you’ll never have to worry about losing your work again. With the latest update, you’ll now be able to connect Cloud Services to Microsoft OneDrive through the web portal. Google Drive users will also see improvements in Cloud Services which will directly integrate seamlessly with Shared Drives or Files. And Vectorworks Nomad can now sync with the iOS Files app, so any files you save on your mobile device will be saved and available to access via the web portal for any device. Lastly, users can now select new regional storage location options to comply with local GDPR and improve overall performance.

A title block is used to identify the project, the project team as well as providing information specific to a particular sheet within a set of drawings. Title blocks also become the means for tracking the history of issued drawing sets together with revisions within a set. These features not only convey information, but let you maintain a consistent appearance throughout a set of drawings.
This document will focus on using the title block to help you maintain a coordinated set of drawings as well as manage revision and issuance information and assumes the user is familiar with placing a title block on a sheet layer. Since this document
focuses on managing data, it is important that you use a title block border style on sheet layers.

Project Sharing is a multiuser environment that streamlines project management and execution. It was developed to help Vectorworks users manage projects involving multiple users, fostering effective collaboration and communication within a project team.

With project schedules becoming increasingly more compressed, you may be looking for a new workflow that’s efficient, but also doesn’t hinder your creative process. One of the most straightforward ways to make a change in your building design process
is by adopting a 3D modeling workflow. Incorporating this method will help you remain creative and meet shorter deadlines.
This presentation includes a brief history of what you draw in a building design workflow and compares the similarities and differences between a traditional, 2D workflow with a modern, 3D modeling workflow.

Social media marketing is taking over as one of the key drivers in building relationships, driving traffic, increasing brand awareness, and giving an inside look at what your business is all about. The AEC industry is no exception for potential clients using social media for discovery. In this webinar, Joselyn Wojtalewicz, Vectorworks’ content marketing manager, will guide you through best practices on using different social media platforms, examples of successful firms using social media marketing, and how you can grow your audience.

BIM authoring software, such as Vectorworks®, allows architects and other professionals within the AEC industry to create complex, data-rich 3D models for the purpose of exploring and documenting a design. This continually growing technology also allows for new ways of sharing information among all consultants on a project. As a result, it is essential to establish an agreed-upon method and file format for information exchange between the different disciplines on a team who are each utilizing different software. In some cases, a traditional 2D line drawing exchange, such as a PDF or DWG, is needed to support those who have not entered the 3D realm. Other times, exchange of only geometry in the form of a 3D DWG may be needed for clash detection and as a “background” for referencing. However, if the file exchange needs to support Building Information Models and the sharing of geometry and data, then the IFC file format should be strongly considered.
